How come you weren't staying there when I came to see you in Paris? I'm just curious.

I was on a job which means people were likely looking for me, even if they were just my client's people, and was probably tailed when leaving meetings, to make sure I wasn't double crossing them. If I'd taken evasive maneuvers to get home without giving away where the house was--they would have been suspicious, and if I hadn't, then very dangerous people would know where I live, and I tend to not like people I don't trust knowing where I live.

Does that never bother you? That you can't even stay in your own home when you're in town?
