Nooooooo, what you do is say you have this thing to do with your family, and it's totally lame but he wants to come he can, or if he has something else planned you two can hook up later. That way he's not guilted into thinking it's a big deal, and you let him know you're not blowing him off and hint that you DO want to spend time with him.
