I don't think it's applied correctly. I'd put the rapists and child molesters to death before a murderer.

I have not been nor will I ever be a parent, so it's a bit pretentious of me to say I think it's a pretty outdated and slightly barbaric practice, but no, I don't believe it's the right course of action. I mean...you're basically bullying your kid. If you gotta resort to hitting them to get them to behave, you're not doing something right.
