I would like to state, for the record, that that whole practice of making a woman drink a TON of water and then not letting her pee and then PRESSING DOWN ON HER ABDOMEN with that wand thing is a form of torture. TORTURE.

And also totally worth it.

I know, honey. I know how scary it is. But believe me when I say, it really does help to just hope for the best. Hope is really, when you get right down to it, all we can do in these situations. It's corny and intangible (and therefore slightly annoying), but that's all there is. And optimism is good for both you and the baby.
